Every time I create a new page I have to enter the required date format. Since the date format is always the same for my apps, would it be possible to set a default date format option somewhere? This would increase the friendliness of the environment.

This isn't supported at the moment. We have it logged as a feature request but it isn't very high on our priority list as there is an easy workaround for it.
